LimeShot Privacy Policy
This policy covers LimeShot, the browser extension for full-page screenshots and annotation, made by Limewood.
The short version: LimeShot collects no data. At all. Your screenshots are captured, edited, and saved entirely on your computer — they never reach us or anyone else.
1. Data we do NOT collect
LimeShot has no servers, no accounts, and makes no network requests. Specifically, we do not collect:
- Your screenshots or anything visible in them — capture, annotation, and export all happen locally in your browser
- The pages you visit, your browsing history, or the URLs you capture
- Your name, email address, or any account information — there is no sign-up
- Usage analytics, telemetry, crash reports, or advertising identifiers
2. Data stored on your device
LimeShot stores two kinds of data locally in your browser, and nowhere else:
- Recent captures and their annotations — kept temporarily (last 10 captures) so you can reopen the editor; older ones are deleted automatically
- Your preferences — filename pattern, image quality, and similar settings
Uninstalling the extension removes all of it.
3. Permissions we request, and why
- activeTab & scripting — to capture the tab you ask to capture, only when you ask (toolbar click or keyboard shortcut)
- storage — to save your preferences locally
- clipboardWrite — for the "Copy to clipboard" button
LimeShot requests no host permissions and cannot read pages in the background.
4. Email
If you email us (hello@limewood.app or limonpervez@gmail.com), we will see your email address and whatever you include. We use this only to reply to you.
5. Children's privacy
LimeShot is not directed at children under 13, and since we collect no personal data from anyone, we also collect none from children.
6. Your rights
Because your data lives only on your device, you can exercise your rights (GDPR, CCPA and similar) directly: delete captures inside the extension, or uninstall it to remove everything.
7. Changes to this policy
If LimeShot's data handling ever changes, we will update this page and the "Last updated" date above. What won't change is the principle: your screenshots stay yours.
